The FSA issued a series of warnings based on the consumption of acrylamide, listing burnt toast as a 'danger food'. While it said 'even food industry workers, who are exposed to twice as much acrylamide as other people, do not have higher rates of cancer.' On its website it also warned of 'weak and inconsistent' data regarding a higher risk of womb cancer. 'However, evidence from human studies has shown that, for most cancer types, there is no link between acrylamide and cancer risk.'
